(1)Nasal congestion and nasal cannula oxygen inhalation method: This oxygen inhalation method has simple equipment and is easy to use. There are two types of nasal congestion methods: single congestion and double congestion. The single congestion method selects a suitable model to be inserted into one side of the nasal vestibule, and is in close contact with the nasal cavity (the other nostril is open). When inhaling, only oxygen is introduced, so the oxygen concentration is relatively stable. The double plug method involves placing two relatively small nasal plugs simultaneously in both nostrils, leaving a gap around the nasal plugs to allow for simultaneous breathing of air. The patient is more comfortable, but the oxygen concentration is not stable enough. The nasal cannula method involves inserting a catheter (commonly a urinary catheter) through the nostril into the posterior part of the soft palate at the top of the nasal cavity, with a constant oxygen concentration. However, over time, there may be discomfort and blockage by secretions. Nasal congestion and nasal cannula oxygen therapy are generally only suitable for low flow oxygen supply. If the flow rate is relatively high, it will be unbearable due to the high flow rate and impact force, and it is also easy to cause dryness of the airway mucosa.

(2)Mask oxygen inhalation method: can be divided into open and closed mask methods. Open type refers to placing the mask 1-3 centimeters away from the patient's nose, suitable for children, without any discomfort. The closed face mask method is to tightly cover the mouth and nose with a mask and fix it with elastic bands. It is suitable for those with severe hypoxia, and the oxygen concentration can reach 40% to 50%. It feels comfortable without mucosal irritation or dry blowing sensation. However, it consumes a large amount of oxygen and has the disadvantage of inconvenient eating and expectoration.
